Chief justice Aning Yeboah has cleared seven high court judges who were implicated in allegations of bribery from a documentary video evidence by investigative Journalist. Anas Arim Yaw Anas in the year 2015.
This information was given by Kwaku Anang the host of “The Seat” on Net 2 television Monday night 20th July. According to him their certificates which was earlier ceased by the former Chief Justice, Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has been returned to them. After a broader consultation with all the stake holders there was no adverse findings or wrong doing against these Judges.
It will be recalled that the seven had a case of “misbehavior” to answer in the year 2015. The seven were the most senior judges to be suspended so far in what is the biggest corruption scandal to hit Ghana’s judiciary. Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood had established a “prima facie case of misbehavior against them”. the statement by Ghana’s Judicial Council said.
Now that they have been cleared by the Chief Justice, Justice Aning Yeboah and their certificates returned to them, they can now be re-instated by the state and continue their work.
