The vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumiah says anti-corruption agencies budget like CHRAJ, Special Prosecutor, Attorney General, and all other anti-corruption agencies budget have been increased under the N.P.P. administration and they are very elated.
Speakink on ASSHH FM 101.I in Kumasi on their morning show dubbed National Agenda with Odefuor Kwasi .K. on Tuesday 13th October 2020, as monitored by marinaffradio.com, the vice President explained that at first these agencies did not have enough money to do their work but under Nana Akuffo Addo their budgets have been increased to between 25 and 34 % across board for all the anti-corruption agencies.
According to Dr. Bawumia if there is not enough money for these agencies it will be very difficult to fight corruption. Logistics have been given to them that will enable them to fight corruption.
Apart from that is Digitization that has been introduced but People do not link digitization to anti-corruption. He explained that when one visits the DVLA the Government has introduced digital driver’s lances as well as digital vehicle registration, and these measures have been able to drive away the “ Goro Boys” so the corruption that was there have reduced drastically.
Furthermore same thing can be said of the passport office which has become paperless because this time everything is done online so there is no way an individual can pay bribe to get a passport, as well as when one goes to the port too is paperless so the the Government has really done it’s best in terms of fighting corruption.
